Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the
pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church,
the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s
Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.
- Ephesians 4:11-13
Community Christian Church is an elder led, non-denominational congregation. Our elders are chosen by the members of the congregation, and they are affirmed each year in a vote by the congregation. It is our belief that this pattern and process reflects the New Testament teachings of church leadership.
We also have ministers on staff who help to lead the ministry alongside of our elders. PJ Condit serves as our Lead Minister; and Caleb Garrett serves as our Family Discipleship Minister. Our elders and ministry staff meet monthly to oversee, plan, and pray for the needs of the church.
CCC holds a congregational meeting each October to affirm our elders and update the congregation with essential information. The CCC members are also invited to a quarterly meeting of planning and prayer called the General Board meeting that meets after the worship service.
The role of elders is to supervise and oversee the ministries of the church, and also to shepherd the members of the congregation. Overseeing ministry is done through raising up leaders and teams and leading them to fruitful work. Shepherding the congregation is done through relational contact.
